• Dr. Usasi Chatterjee holds a PhD in French from McGill University. Her PhD thesis topic "Yves Bonnefoy et la phenomenologie du dire poetique" highlights her ongoing interest in French literature. Her interests also include literature and cinema of Quebec, modern French and German poetry, 21st century Tunisian and French novels. Dr. Chatterjee is currently working on a series of critical essays on Modern Tunisian fiction in French.
  
  Dr. Chatterjee also enjoys classical piano, North Indian classical music, modern poetry and philosophy. She has traveled extensively throughout Asia, North Africa, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States, and Europe. She has been awarded the Faculty Mellon grant to teach a new course on Indo-Mauritian writers. Coordinator of the Translation program (2012-13) and of Advanced French.
