Professor Johnson is a theoretical and computational physicist investigating questions across a number of fields, including topics in quantum computing science, ultracold atomic physics, superconducting qubit physics, and quantum field theory. He is interested in both fundamental questions, exploring the behaviors and interactions of trapped quantum particles and fields, and in applications, particularly efforts to develop revolutionary new kinds of technologies including quantum computers and quantum sensors.
