Stacia is an adjunct instructor at American University, teaching graduate level classes on curriculum design for the K-12 classroom and curriculum designed in early childhood education. Stacia Jackson is the Education Manager for Jumpstart. In this role, Stacia works collaboratively to revise, edit, and create platforms, tools, and resources related to the Jumpstart implementation across the country. Stacia has been with Jumpstart since February 2011, previously serving as the site manager for Jumpstart at American University in Washington, DC. Prior to her work at Jumpstart, Stacia was the Site-Based Programs Director for Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region, formerly Discovery Creek Children’s Museum, where she redesigned the school-aged children’s programming and increased the diversity of programming to accommodate more children. Stacia has also volunteered at the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington, DC, where she supported and maintained the social media components of the Discovering the Civil War exhibition. Stacia is the recipient of the Lasting Legacy Scholarship from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in 2013, American Alliance of Museum (AAM) Emerging Museum Fellowship (2012) and the AAM Small Museum Administrators Committee; Technology, Interpretation, and Education Fellow (2010). Stacia’s publications include 25 Things to Do With Rubber Ducks (Teaching Young Children, April 2015), and A Laughing Matter (Museum Magazine, May 2011). She has presented at the Virginia Association of Museums (Locally Sourced Culture: Engaging the Community with Your Museum, 2015) and the Virginia Association of Early Childhood Education (Locally Sourced Culture, 2015). Stacia lives with her husband in Washington, DC.
