• As an Immigration Specialist in the International Student and Scholar Services office (ISSS), Semhar advises F-1 and J-1 international students about their visa status; functions as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO); provides immigration sessions for incoming and current international students; manages, updates, and tracks immigration status of international students on SEVIS; and responds to internal and external immigration related inquiries. Semhar enjoys working with international students and sharing views on different subjects with them. Semhar is originally from Eritrea and had once been an international student herself at AU.
