David Baratta serves as the Assistant Registrar for Degree Clearance in the Office of the University Registrar, working with the team responsible for degree audits and clearances as well as assisting with commencement logistics. Before that, David served as Senior Administrative Assistant (6 years) and Administrative Assistant (1 year) in the Department of Public Administration and Policy in the School of Public Affairs.
Before working at American University, David worked in the Department of Political Science and the public affairs office of the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. He was also a summer intern at the Federal Student Aid office of the U.S. Department of Education.
While working at DPAP, David completed his JD at AU's Washington College of Law in 2016 focusing on courses related to estate planning and was a Senior Blogger for WCL's Health Law and Policy Brief. In 2009, David earned his BA in International Affairs and Political Science from the George Washington University where he was a starting defenseman on the club hockey team. Outside of AU, David serves as a volunteer hockey coach.
