• Ed, who joined SOC in May 2010, brings an unusual background with dual career tracks in media and higher education management. On the media side, Ed has been an entrepreneur in FM radio, a trained actor (SAG & AFTRA member), video producer/director (2 Telly awards), marketing VP in launch of a successful cable television channel (CableFAX award), and co-host of a daily cable TV talk show. On the higher education track, he has been general manager of a proprietary online university, a VP International with the online division of Laureate Education, Inc., a higher ed consultant with Eduventures, and Chief Operating Officer in the successful launch of the Erickson School of Aging Studies, the first professional school to be created at UMBC.
