Maureen Breslin


Academic Support and Access Center

  • Breslin rejoined the staff of American University in the spring of 2007 after traveling from city to city with the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. While working with "The Greatest Show on Earth," she ran a one-room schoolhouse with 17 students. Before that, Breslin was an assistant coach with the AU field hockey team from 2003-2006. While coaching, she completed her master’s degree in International Training and Education at American University and assisted international students in the Academic Support and Access Center’s Writing Lab. Breslin was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Leshan, Sichuan, China, where she taught at Leshan Teachers College. After two years in the Peace Corps, she taught and coached at Penncrest High School in Media, Pa.
