Elizabeth Clendenin

Resource Teacher/Administrative Assistant
Child Development Center

  • My name is Elizabeth Clendenin, but you can call me Liz. I was raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i and in 2003 I moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend Loyola University New Orleans, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 2007. During my college years, I worked at the Whelan Children's Center on campus as a Work Study student during the school year and a Student Assistant/Substitute Teacher during the summers. Shortly before graduation, I accepted the position of Administrative Assistant, Substitute Teacher/Cook. I worked full time at Whelan for 6 years before accepting the position here at American University and moving to DC. I am excited to get to know all the children and parents, and to bring all that I've learned in my 10 years working in an early childhood setting to the CDC.
