Additional Positions at AU
Hayley Kanlyn has worked in the field of international professional exchanges and public diplomacy for almost a decade. As Assistant Director for Contract Programs, Intercultural Management Training (part of the School of Professional and Extended Studies), Hayley leverages her prior experience in NGO management, project management, and federal grant management to develop programs that multiply the impact and reach of SPExS’s influence.
Prior to SPExS, Hayley managed local NGO professional exchange programs, in Minneapolis and Seattle, funded by the U.S. Department of State. While there, Hayley developed and managed key partnerships with NGO, government, private and for-profit sector American professionals to create customized professional exchange projects for visiting international delegations, all guests of the U.S. government. Most recently, Hayley worked in a Washington, D.C. national programming agency to administer Department of State professional exchange projects for international visiting leaders—arranging their travel across the U.S. and programmatic content for short-term exchange projects.
Hayley worked and studied abroad on an experiential learning project in Belfast, Northern Ireland. There she worked in a NGO focused on youth engagement and conflict resolution through the lens of fair and balanced journalism.
Hayley is currently an M.B.A. candidate in the Kogod School of Business at American University.
