Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in journalism and higher education outreach, John oversees and coordinates all communication and marketing efforts for American University’s School of Communication. His career stretches from writing for daily newspapers in Massachusetts to serving as an English-language editor for the Xinhua News Service in Beijing to reporting/editing for Agence France-Presse in the Washington, DC bureau. His work in higher education includes over a decade at the University of Southern California, where he created the first office of communications and public relations for the School of Cinematic Arts. In addition, he served for five years as the marketing manager for the Texas A&M Foundation in College Station.
