- Jorge Abud has overall responsibility for the university’s facilities and a variety of support services. His areas of responsibility include facilities operations and maintenance; mail; dining services; real estate management; and facilities planning, acquisition, design, and construction. He provides guidance and strategic planning for the development of facilities to support the institution’s mission. Working on the development of the Sports Center, Tenley Campus, Washington College of Law, Katzen Arts Center and many other projects, Jorge has contributed to more than doubling the university’s facilities. He has also led the advancement of service delivery to focus on providing a high quality campus environment. He has worked at American University for nearly 30 years in a variety of facilities and finance roles. Jorge is a past president of the Academic Facilities Council of the International Facility Management Association.
