Bio
Katherine has led the Career Center as Executive Director since l998. From 1991 to 1998, she directed internships and cooperative education in the Center. She has presented at numerous conferences, but is most energized when meeting students and alumni and hearing about their successes in internships, jobs, and nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships. She is passionate about the perpetual search for new ways to improve student services and is proud of her fabulous staff. Katherine is also committed to advancing volunteerism and currently leads a large college/university coalition as part of the Brookings Initiative to double the number of Americans volunteering abroad by 2010. Before coming to AU, Katherine worked primarily in the nonprofit sector, leading program development and fundraising for organizations, including the Children’s Defense Fund, National Gardening Association, and The Year of American Craft. She also spent five years working at the University of Vermont.
