Assistant Director, Outreach and Research Development, IARI

Shannon Looney serves as the Assistant Director of Outreach and Research Development for the International Affairs Research Institute (IARI). In this capacity, she oversees external outreach and marketing of SIS faculty research and drafting of proposals for external funding on behalf of the Dean. She also works with faculty and staff to encourage external funding, reviews and edits proposal narratives, and jointly facilitates internal presentations and workshops to strengthen faculty research activities. Prior to joining IARI, Shannon worked with the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) in which she managed the Institute’s major grant-funded initiatives and authored various reports related to college access and success. She has also previously worked as a Research Assistant with the American Institutes for Research (AIR).
