Michelle manages various dialogue programs, including the Intergroup Dialogue program; which offers dialogue groups on topics around race, gender, sexuality, and more. Additionally, she provides one on one advising to students regarding their academic, personal, cultural, and professional development. Michelle also meets with student leaders and activists regarding cultivating dialogue in their student groups. Prior to joining American University, Michelle’s passion for social justice work in higher education was cultivated through her work with TRiO and the LGBT Resource Center at UC San Diego. While receiving her master’s at the University of Maryland, Michelle was an Intergroup Dialogue Facilitator, Safe Space Coordinator, and Co-founder of the Graduate Student of Color Space. When she’s not at work, Michelle enjoys working out, reading Black feminist novels, and watching all three Shondaland shows.
