Dr. Erin O’Neill’s passion is investigating the health of children, adolescents, and college students as they transition through their educational careers. The simultaneous and critical changes from youth to young adulthood exist in the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of wellness. Positive development can be addressed with supportive, healthy environments in order to set the stage for productive and bright futures!

With theories from health promotion and student development, she examines epidemiological trends and outcomes in higher education, schools, and organized sport settings. Her research has investigated collegiate freshmen health risk behaviors, collegiate binge drinking in special interest housing, and physical activity based charter schools.

Dr. O’Neill is a Certified Health Education Specialist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She teaches Nutrition, Lifetime Health and Fitness, Introduction to Health Promotion, and Health Promotion Program Planning.
