Robin Adams is the Assistant Director for Center for Community Engagement & Service. She also serves as Director for the DC Reads program. Robin has lived and worked in Washington D.C. over 15 years. She has had a long standing career in both the non-profit, private and public sector.
Robin Adams joined the Center for Community Engagement and Service in spring 2003. She comes to AU from the Department of Commerce in the Bureau of the Census where she served as Partnership Specialist. In this role she developed local and national partnership and provided grant support to communities in need. Prior to working for the Commerce Department, Robin worked for Children's Defense Fund (CDF) where she served as a national trainer for the CDF Freedom Schools project. In her time with CDF, Robin trained and supported over 1500 college students to work and advocate on behalf of children.
In addition, Robin has worked on education awareness programs for DC Rape Crisis Center, Sasha Bruce Youthworks, DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence, For the Love of Children, Public Allies and has served a independent consultant/trainer for local and national nonprofit organizations.
