Academic Support and Access Center
Shilah joined the Academic Support & Access Center staff in August 2014 as the Assistant Counselor for Student-Athletes. Prior to AU Shilah received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in coaching and masters in Higher Education & Student Affairs Administration from SUNY Buffalo State in Buffalo, NY. During his time at SUNY Buffalo State, Shilah was a member of the track & field team and specialized in the 400 meters. After finishing his bachelors, Shilah joined the track & field coaching staff at SUNY Buffalo State for two years and helped the men's and women's teams to indoor conference championships. He also helped coach three NCAA Division three national champions and numerous All-Americans. While completing his masters Shilah was an Academic Mentor in the Athletics Academic & Student Development Services office at the University at Buffalo, and worked closely with the women’s cross country and track, football, wrestling, and rowing teams. He would later be an intern in the office.
Shilah hopes to helped students achieve their academic goals while helping them understand that anything is obtainable with hard work and determination.
