Rebecca joined the AU Alumni Relations team in June 2010. She is responsible for managing alumni relations social media accounts and drafting, editing, and disseminating other alumni relations communications outreach. She also continues her studies in political science and communication as a student at American University.
Prior to working at American University, Rebecca was research chief and executive assistant to the president at Robert Weiner Associates, a political communication and consulting firm. While there, she helped craft effective political messages; planned and helped execute over 50 news conferences and events; generated local and national press coverage for clients; edited, researched, and assisted in placing over 95 op-eds and letters in top 100 newspapers; and co-authored op-eds in the San Francisco Chronicle and Georgetowner. She also worked as co-director of the Democratic National Convention Press Briefing Room in 2008 and 2012.
When she first moved to D.C. in 2002, Rebecca was an intern at the Children’s Defense Fund, a child advocacy group.
