Liz Bayer is originally from Minnesota, Liz is a senior in the School of International Service, majoring in international studies with a concentration in development and a minor in global health. She is a member of Women's Initiative, a branch of AU's student government that advocates for equitable academic programming and policy. Within WI, she serves as the Director of the HIV/AIDS Awareness Task Force, organizing AU's highly successful AIDS Walk team, AU Fights AIDS; creating events related to the local and global HIV/AIDS epidemics; fostering student service related to HIV outreach in DC communities; and ensuring that students have access to prevention methods and regular testing. She is also a member of the International Youth Leadership Council at Advocates for Youth, an international organization that promotes the sexual and reproductive health rights of young people around the world. For the Fall 2010 semester, she is working as a program intern at the Center for Health and Gender Equity.
