Joseph Tawney

International Affairs: U.S.Foreign Policy/National Sec (MA)

Joseph Tawney joined SIS Research last week as a Program Assistant. Joseph will support our efforts to help faculty win grants and raise the profile of their research. Joseph is a first year graduate student in the MA in International Affairs program (USFP), with a concentration in economic relations. He is originally from Austin, Texas and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. Since graduating, Joseph has worked in Congress under Representative John Lewis, at the Hudson Institute writing research reports and analyses for Dr. Richard Weitz, and participated in the Pathways Program in the Office of Financial Management with the Department of Interior. Joseph spends his free time kayaking, rock climbing or hiking…always accompanied by his dog, Oakley. Joseph can be reached at SISResearch@american.edu or jt7227a@student.american.edu.
