MFA - Film and Electronic Media
I am an artist, filmmaker, photographer, and professor.
My artistic work spans a range of investigations primarily dealing with viewer's relationship with imagery, and how different modes of viewership alter the resulting impact and understanding of visual culture.
In my professional work, I've worked as a staff photojournalist at daily and weekly newspapers ranging in circulation from a few thousand to 200-thousand-plus, and my work has been published throughout the world in a variery of media.
Lately, the majority of my editorial and commercial work has transitioned into the moving picure, and it's much more common to find me behind a movie camera, having shot both narrative and documentary projects here in DC and across the globe.
I was awarded the 2012 National Photography Award from the Von Leibig Art Center in Naples, Florida.
