Rhucha Samudra

Rhucha Samudra is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Public Administration and Policy. Her research interests include the design and impact of the U.S. Social Safety Net on economic and social outcomes for low income individuals and families. She is also interested in the design and effect of tax policy as it relates to poverty and income inequality. Prior to starting her PhD, she worked with the local governments in Arizona and Michigan focusing on community development, homeless planning and other human services issues. She is also a Graduate Research Fellow at the Office of Revenue Analysis of the District of Columbia government where she conducts research on the design and effect of local government tax policy on income inequality.
