TED Projects Internship Opportunities

The Trade Environment Database or TED offers internships for credit for undergraduate or graduate students wishing to gain practical research, media, and publication experience.

TED is offering research internships in the following project and research areas.

  • Rights (Rights, Environment, and Trade in International Affairs --RETINA)
  • Culture (Culture, Environment, and Trade--CTE)
  • Gender and trade issues
  • Water and Conflict (October Conference)
  • Other research projects as approved by Professor Lee
  • Tasks include: sending publications out for review, conducting original research on the above project areas for potential publication on the TED Web Site, and actual grant and contract research/administration.

TED is offering a position for a Web/Communications intern.

  • The position includes HTML computer programming, Web site, publications, electronic newsletter, and image development. Additional areas of work include development of videos on TED research issues.

TED staff would comply with administrative requirements for students to receive academic credit.

Required Skills

Interns should possess good writing, editing, communication and research skills. They should be self-starters and self-motivators. Knowledge of HTML programming or the ability to learn this skill quickly is beneficial. Additionally knowledge of desktop publishing applications (word processors, spreadsheets, file management), and administrative skills (although interns are never responsible for all of TED's administrative tasks, they should be able to handle office duties which may arise as part of their applied work on specific research/media projects) are also sigificant. Web/Communications Intern should be familiar with photoshop, pagemaker, file transfer protocol, and html.
