SAINT-ETIENNE
As a green, combative and bold city, Saint-Etienne has been capable of using its heritage to face the future, to make great efforts and careful investments. It is the capital of the Forez, and owing to its long manufacturing experience in the heart of a coal mining area, was one of the first cities to experience the French industrial revolution. Saint-Etienne is the second largest city of the Rhone-Alpes region, and it has everything going for it: its rich past, its great energy, its incomparable setting, and its perennial passion for soccer.
