|SUBJECT:||Transfer of Academic Technology Services from CTRL to the University Library|
We are pleased to announce that the responsibilities for specific academic technology support services will be transferred from the Center for Teaching, Research, and Learning (CTRL) to the University Library. The transfer, which will take place during summer of 2011, will unite similar academic technology services that are currently spread across these two units. This integration of academic technology will result in a more coordinated focus on the effective delivery of these important services. The move will also better enable CTRL to focus on its holistic faculty development mission in support of the scholar-teacher model that is at the core of AU’s strategic plan.
The academic technology services that will transfer from CTRL to the University Library include Audio and Visual Systems and Services, BlackBoard and Wimba support, the New Media Center, and Academic Media Services (iTunes). The transfer of academic technology responsibilities will not result in any elimination of positions or services.
As the transfer unfolds over the next few months, further updates will be shared. Questions specifically regarding the transfer should be directed to University Librarian Bill Mayer at firstname.lastname@example.org. Otherwise, the contact information for academic technology services will remain the same during the transfer.
