The process to permanently fill the position of Vice Provost and Dean of Academic Affairs has begun with the formation of a search committee. As has been the practice in forming search committees for academic leadership positions, the Faculty Senate has elected representatives in accordance with the Academic Regulations and other representatives have been appointed by the Provost to ensure diversity and appropriate representation of stakeholder groups.
I would like to thank the following members of our campus community for agreeing to serve on this very important search committee:

Charged with identifying and screening candidates, the committee will present for selection a short list of nominees who are best suited to lead in the area of faculty affairs as a member of the Provost’s academic administration team. The committee will hold its first meeting on Monday, November 23, 2009.
