Dear Colleague:

You have been invited to participate in American University's 2011 Academic Affairs Leadership Retreat. Entitled "The Changing Market for Graduate Education," the retreat is a one-day event held at the Washington College of Law (WCL) for faculty and administrators involved in graduate and professional education at AU. Against the context of national and regional trends in graduate and professional education, retreat participants will discuss how best to meet the university's Strategic Plan goals in this area. The retreat agenda is below for your review.

Registration begins today. Please complete the registration survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K7R9DM8 by close of business Friday, October 7. Following the close of registration, you will be registered in the Blackboard course, 2011 Leadership Retreat, where you will be able to read and download brief pre-retreat readings.

On the morning of the retreat, the WCL parking garage will open at 7:30 AM allowing those with AU parking decals to utilize the garage. Given that WCL classes will be in session, we encourage you to consider parking on the main campus and taking the shuttle or walking to the law school. Also, avoid parking on the neighborhood streets as AU faculty and staff are prohibited from parking on neighborhood streets while conducting university business at WCL.

We look forward to a productive event and to seeing each of you there.
