Orientation programs, held during the week before classes begin, serve as an introduction to the university for new tenure-line faculty and new term faculty. Both programs include an overview of the university and American University students, information on teaching and resources to help you get off to a successful start, and topics such as how to maintain wellness and work-life balance. The orientations are the first part of a year-long Entré program for new faculty.
