Faculty at AU are the heart and soul of the academy and the driving force of the institution. With this responsibility, faculty engagement in planning and implementing the academic priorities and strategic goals and objectives is critical.
The Faculty Retreat is an annual day-and-a-half off campus event that brings the university-wide faculty together for this purpose. This year’s theme, Building a More Vibrant Academic Community, builds upon the work of past retreats and raises new issues for further strengthening both the university and the work of the faculty.
The program consists of a plenary by President Neil Kerwin and Provost Bass, national higher education speakers, breakout sessions on a variety of topics selected by the faculty, and opportunities to network with faculty colleagues.
The 2010 Faculty Retreat will be held on October 15 – 16 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, MD. Registration will be held between August 16- September 13.
