Objective
Objective The primary role of GAAC is to facilitate the realization of American University’s Strategic Plan and the goal to "demonstrate distinction in graduate, professional, and legal studies" and "encourage innovation and high performance."
In particular, the purpose of GAAC is to:
- support initiatives from the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies & Research
- serve as a resource for academic units and administrative offices on issues related to graduate students and/or graduate academic advising
- share best practices among the graduate advising community
- form recommendations on improving the graduate student experience
- represent the needs of graduate students and raise awareness of their distinct needs
