CPI Conducts Peace Education Training Workshop

On October 26, 2008, Creative Peace Initiatives (CPI) conducted a training session for peace education facilitators to teach in DC-area high schools. They used a dehumanization lesson created by CPI last year to facilitate the training . Twenty people registered for the training (about half graduate and half undergraduate students), which was run by Lynn Izakowitz (IPCR ’09), featuring Barbara Dziedzic (IPCR ’10) as a guest speaker.

On Monday, October 27, two newly-trained facilitators successfully implemented the dehumanization lesson at Arundel High School in Maryland. Other facilitator teams will be going to Arundel High School and Wilson High School throughout the rest of the semester.

CPI will hold more peace education facilitator training sessions next semester, so stay tuned!
