Elleni is a first-year graduate student in IPCR. This summer she interned in Professor Said’s office and transitioned in August to the Washington College of Law as the Assistant to the Director of the International Legal Studies Program. Elleni, while teaching in Baltimore with Teach for America (TFA), spent her summer off doing service in Senegal, where she helped build a school and taught in a mosque.
From her experience she has a specific interest in using peace studies in international education. She also runs workshops on peaceful environments in the classroom for Teach for America DC where she uses skills and theories from IPCR classes. Reflecting on her experience so far, she says, “learning is more meaningful when you go in with an end goal.”
