STUDENT GRANT COMPETITION
15th Annual Human Rights Film Series
Please note that we will not be hosting the Student Grant Competition this Fall. Please check back next year for further updates.
As part of the Annual Human Rights Film Series, in past years we have hosted the Student Grant Competition to support student activities at AU around human rights and media. The winner(s) receive up to $1,000 to put toward creating a media project that furthers the AU and broader community’s understanding of issues involving human rights.
Projects use media to promote or advocate on behalf of a particular human rights issue or to explore the intersection of human rights and media. Proposals for panel discussions, innovative awareness campaigns, short films, web-based projects, public art installations, zines, new media, theater, the publication of prose or verse, multimedia or other innovative projects are all eligible. Proposals will be judged on the ability to raise awareness around an issue in an innovative and perhaps even provocative way. Winning proposals must be implemented by the end of the Spring 2015 Semester. This is an excellent opportunity for you to bring make your ideas into reality and help promote human rights around AU and beyond. Open to graduate and undergraduate students.
