The National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) recognizes American University
American University's Office of Institutional Research and Assessment website is NILOA's Featured Website for its Creativity and Centralized Assessment Repository.
According to NILOA,
"American University’s Office of Institutional Research and Assessment offers a Learning Outcomes and Assessment website for both its internal and external audiences. Comprehensive assessment plans for general education and each program/major are publicly available and include information on indirect/direct measures, group/individual targets, learning outcomes addressed by the assessment, and tentative assessment cycle. A sample template as well as instructions, rubrics and resources to complete the plan are available. Best practices from program/major assessment plans are also showcased according to 12 developed indicators of best practice of which 6 are listed on its site."
"National survey results including NSSE, first college year survey, campus climate, and freshmen and graduation census are available on the Institutional Assessment web page. Links to American University’s Strategic Plan and Institutional Assessment Plan as well as resources including information on workshops offered by the current Learning Assessment Committee, a list of Assessment Resources, and links to program assessment plans from other universities are provided. For its abundance of information on ongoing assessment activities and mapping best practices within the institution related to assessment, American University’s OIRA is June’s Featured Website."
