Examines the emergence of photography and the medium's pivotal role in shaping relations between Asia and the West. Examines early portraiture, architectural sites, colonial tourism, photojournalism, family photographs, and contemporary photography. Meets with ARTH-623. Usually offered alternate years. Prerequisite: ARTH-225 or ARTH-320.
