Financial Regulation

This course examines how the regulation of financial markets affects the behavior of its participants, both in the United States and abroad. The course prepares students who are considering a career that involves the financial services industry, including both market participants and the agencies that regulate or make policy affecting the industry, to confront the numerous regulatory issues that influence and determine the operations of financial institutions. The focus of the course is on how institutions are regulated in the United States but systems in Europe and Asia are also discussed and contrasted. Prerequisite: undergraduate: FIN-230 or FIN-365; graduate: FIN-630 or FIN-614.
