Emergence of Modern America, 1877-1920 (3) The course considers themes in the modernization of America: the rise of corporations and cities, the influx of immigrants from southern and eastern Europe, and the advent of the new diplomacy and imperialism. Also studies populism and progressivism. Crosslist: HIST-455. Usually Offered: alternate years.
