PUBH-115 Why Aren't We Dead Yet? Role of Public Health in Society FA (4)

Course Level: Undergraduate

Infectious and chronic diseases kill millions of people around the world every year. This course discusses how microbes and lifestyle choices can make individuals sick, and how the field of public health helps keep communities healthy. Global and reproductive health issues are also discussed, as well as the influence of environmental and public policy on health. In the laboratory component students formulate and address hypotheses through experimentation, focusing on demographics, microbiology, immunology, and environmental health. Usually offered every fall.
