Course Level: Undergraduate
Epidemiology is the study of the patterns and determinants of disease in populations. This course introduces epidemiological methods including study design, calculation, and interpretation of measures of frequency, association, and public health impact. Sources of study error including the influence of chance, bias, confounding, and effect modification are discussed. Concepts of surveillance and screening are also introduced. Usually offered every fall. Prerequisite: STAT-202.
