Resources for Prospective Transfer Students

Are you ready to apply to AU as a transfer student? Are you still trying to make up your mind? Below are some resources to help you make your decision.

Evaluation of Transfer Credit

AU faculty will evaluate your coursework from previous institutions to determine if this credit will transfer to AU and if it will, how it will apply towards your degree. The goal is to provide you with the most accurate and appropriate articulation so as to ensure your success at AU.

Preparing for Transfer

Before you transfer to AU there are some steps you can take to understand how your transfer credit will count towards your AU degree. Review the guide below for information on transferring courses from a two-year institution to AU.

Guaranteed Admission Agreements

American University offers Guaranteed Admission Agreements with some two-year institutions. The method of transfer under these agreements differs from traditional transfer to AU, and the requirements vary by agreement. Please read the agreement for your institution very carefully and work with an AU academic advisor or advisor at your community college for specific questions.
