The 2014 Faculty Retreat will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, MD. Located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on the banks of the Choptank River, the venue is a full-service conference facility that offers ample meeting space and business services along with special activities for guests and their families.


The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is approximately a 2 hour drive (90 miles) from the AU campus and is located at 100 Heron Boulevard (at Route 50) in Cambridge, Maryland.

Transportation to the retreat is provided for those who sign up at registration. The bus will leave the Bender Arena at 7:00 a.m. on Friday morning and will depart from the hotel on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.


Faculty are invited to participate in all events and stay overnight as accommodations for the night of October 10, 2014 will be provided. Retreat participants may share a room with a colleague to allow for additional faculty participation.

Faculty who wish to arrive a day earlier or extend their stay at the hotel are eligible for the group discount. The discount rate is applicable to two nights prior to and after October 10.


Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided to all registrants and their families. On the registration form, please note any special dietary needs.

Child Care

Camp Hyatt will provide child care for children ages 4 – 12. (Click here to download a PDF of the Camp Hyatt activity schedule.) Child care for children under 4 years of age will be offer through a nanny service. Arrangements for children over the age of 12 can be made based upon interest. Childcare will be available on Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (with a break between 5:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
