Allie Jackson

Allie is the Fitness Coordinator for Personal Training & Assessments at American University. She received a BS in Health, Physical Education & Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently working on her MS in Health Promotion & Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a certified health fitness specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and a certified health coach through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Allie has experience working with a wide variety of populations through many different fitness domains. She enjoys all aspects of fitness and is eager to spread that passion to others!

Jake Hassinger


Jake is certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  He is a senior here at American University studying philosophy.  His interest in fitness began with sports in high-school.  Now he enjoys pursuing the amateur circuits of power-lifting and figure skating.  Jake looks forward to making a positive impact in the fitness goals of the AU Community. 

Stephen Scott


Steve is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and was a collegiate track and field athlete. He has been an elementary school teacher for the past 5 years and is now a full-time grad student at AU.  He has completed 4 Tough Mudders, loves getting around DC on his mountain bike, and has a passion for both cardio and strength training. He hopes to become a high-school track and field coach someday. Steve enjoys motivating others to become the healthiest versions of themselves.

Chelsea Horne


Chelsea is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She received both her BS and MS degrees at Binghamton University where she played Division I softball for 4 years. She holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has experience in weight training, strength and conditioning, and Crossfit. Chelsea loves working out and looks forward to helping and motivating all her clients to achieve and surpass their training goals.

JV Kirkland


JV is a senior at AU studying justice and law.  He regards fitness as the most important aspect of his life.  JV has been teaching fitness classes such as Sculpt & Tone, Killer Kettlebells and Indoor Cycling since August 2014.  He has been a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since December 2014.  He enjoys working out, competing in power lifting competitions and spending time helping others reach their fitness goals. 

Ashley Vicino


Ashley has been a personal trainer for the past 13 years. She received a BS in Health Promotion from American University where she also played Division I Volleyball. She has acquired a great amount of experience working with clients of all ages and fitness levels. The focus of her training has been on general fitness, weight-loss, injury prevention, pre/post natal exercise, senior fitness and individuals with sport specific goals. Ashley is dedicated to the well-being and success of her clients. Her ultimate goal is to empower her clients to live a healthy lifestyle.

Allen Irving


Allen is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  He is currently working towards his Health Promotion degree here at American University.  He has Strength and Conditioning experience working with AU athletes.  Allen has been active his whole life, playing on both club and school sports teams in High School.  He enjoys exercise and believes that physical activity is a large portion of overall wellness.   

Cameron Gray


Cameron is currently working towards a Physical Therapy degree at Howard University.  He is a certified personal trainer through the International Sports & Sciences Association.  In addition to playing football and swimming on the collegiate level, he is also a certified swim coach and lifeguard.  Sport specific drills and athletic conditioning are his passion.  His long term goal is to own a facility that combines fitness and physical therapy.
