Allie is the Fitness Coordinator for Personal Training & Assessments at American University. She received a Bachelor's in Health, Physical Education & Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's in Health Promotion & Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting, a Certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and a Certified Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Allie has experience working with a wide variety of populations through many different fitness domains including weight loss, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, wellness coaching, and endurance training. Allie has been involved in many team sports throughout her life including basketball, field hockey, and soccer. She currently enjoys running, Crossfit-style workouts, and yoga. After a workout, she likes to refuel with anything she can put peanut butter on.
Emily is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and received her Bachelor's in Health Promotion from American University. She grew up playing basketball and soccer and fell in love with swimming in high school. Emily currently enjoys running, biking, and weight training. She specializes in wellness coaching, weight management, endurance training programs, and circuit-based training. Recently, Emily has been listening to Keys N Krates, Diplo, and Kygo to get her ready for a workout in the gym or a long run.
Chelsea is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She received both her BS and MS degrees at Binghamton University where she played Division I softball for 4 years. She holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has experience in weight training, strength and conditioning, and Crossfit. Chelsea specializes in weight loss, strength and conditioning, and general fitness. Chelsea's not picky when it comes to workout music, as long as it has a good beat!
Robert is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), a TRX and cycling instructor, and a Certified Lifeguard. Robert played soccer while earning his Bachelor's from Arizona State University where he majored in History. He has surfed his whole life and is an avid cyclist and boxer. Robert specializes in functional programming, bodybuilding, weight loss, metabolic conditioning, and movement screening assessments. Robert gets pumped up for a workout by listening to Lean On by Major Lazer.
Allen is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. He is currently working towards his Health Promotion degree here at American University. Allen specializes in strength and conditioning and has experience working with varsity athletes at AU. Allen was an athlete himself, competing in wrestling, track, and cross country. His current workout routine is focused on Olympic weightlifting and the strength, power, stability, and mobility that goes along with it. Allen's favorite post-workout snack is a bowl of cereal with almond milk and fruit with peanut butter.
Joel is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He specializes in training for strength, weight loss, and functional fitness. He really enjoys working with individuals that are new to the gym and want a fresh start in fitness. Joel has been active his entire life. In high school he ran track and played on the basketball team. Currently he is focused on lifting weights, MMA, and grappling. Joel's go-to song to get him pumped for a workout is Ocean Planet by Gojira.
Katie is the Fitness Coordinator for Wellness and Special Events at American University. She received both her Bachelor's in Physical Education, Exercise Science, & Wellness and Master's in Kinesiology from the University of North Dakota. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA). She specializes in strength, kettlebell, and endurance training programs, wellness coaching, and enjoys working with those who are new to exercise. Katie grew up playing basketball and volleyball, ran cross country, and swam for her high school team. She currently enjoys strength training and running. Katie's favorite post-workout snack is a bowl of oatmeal with banana and peanut butter.
Erin is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and serves as a Wellness Ambassador for the AU Recreational Sports and Fitness department. She specializes in positive body image, holistic wellness, and strength and endurance programming. In high school, she played lacrosse and ran for the cross-country team. Along with teaching group exercise classes at AU, she runs half-marathons and triathlons. Erin's favorite pump-up song is Too Original by Major Lazer.
