Programs
Program I:Three-week, non-residential, on-campus program—July 9-July 27, 2012: $2,575
Includes:- Three credits of college tuition
- Lunch five days a week and incidental expenses
- Metro fare and other expenses associated with site visits
- Optional afternoon workshops
- Access to AU facilities—Bender Library, fitness center, and pool
Campus housing is not available for this program. Out-of-town students are encouraged to stay with family and friends in the Washington area and commute to AU.
Program II:
Four-week hybrid program, combining learning online with a residential component—July 9-July 28, 2012, online learning; July 29-August 3, 2012, in residence on AU campus: $3,075
Includes:- Three credits of college tuition
- Three weeks of online instruction by professor and peer group discussion via AU electronic blackboard
- One week of residential programming, including campus housing and meals (students arrive the evening of July 29 and leave the afternoon of August 3). This is the only Community of Scholars program with campus housing.
- Metro fare and other expenses associated with site visits
- Access to AU facilities—Bender Library, fitness center, and pool
Program III:
Four-week online learning program—July 9- August 3, 2012: $2,250
Includes:- Three credits of college tuition
- Three weeks of online instruction by professor and peer group discussion via AU electronic blackboard
- Individual consultation by professor on final research paper
- Access at home to online AU library resources
Housing
Campus housing is available only for the one-week residential component of Program II. Out-of-town students are also encouraged to live with friends and family in the area and commute to campus.
