SIS has always had a commitment to helping current and former students find jobs. Over twenty percent of our graduates are employed in the non-governmental/not-for-profit sector. Others go on to serve in various government ministries and departments, while many more work in business or law. Connections forged through the School can be an invaluable resource to students, alumni and friends.
The American University Career Center offers lifetime career counseling. Recent graduates are entitled to all the benefits of current students; alumni who graduated more than one year ago can also take advantage of many other resources the Center offers.

Student-Alumni Partnership: This program partners an alum and a graduating student on similar professional interests. This relationship goes beyond networking, as it is a chance to get to know a student better, offer advice and possibly, have an influence on the student's life. The partnership requires a more generous time commitment from alumni and students than a single event such as a networking reception. We hope that the partnership will be a link, both personally and professionally, for students about to enter (or re-enter) the workplace. For more information please contact SIS Job Advisor Heather Fox, in the Career Center.
Job and Internship Information: Please think of SIS students and the AU Career Center when your workplace is hiring and looking for interns. Forward internship information to John Charles in the AU Career Center and job information to Tina Maynigo Tina Maynigo or go to the Career Center Online to post these immediately.
