ASEAN Studies Center | Visiting Scholars and Visiting Fellows

The ASEAN Studies Center is accepting applications from people interested in becoming Visiting Scholars or Visiting Fellows at the Center. The Visiting Scholars/Visiting Fellows Program is designed for scholars, professionals, and emerging leaders in the fields of international relations and Southeast Asia/Asian studies, and provides a unique, individually-tailored study plan to match the research agenda of each participant. Participants receive administrative support from the ASEAN Studies Center and are given full access to the abundant resources and networks housed inside AU, as well as in the other institutions that are part of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area. Summer Programs

The SIS Summer Abroad ASEAN Studies Program consists of two study sites - Vietnam and Malaysia. The Vietnam seminar examines Vietnam's economic reforms, its engagement with global trade and investment, US-Vietnam relations, regional political integration, and other such topics. The Malaysia seminar specifically examines the impact of political development and economic modernization on human security; transnational labor migration; the roles of the US, Japan, China, and India on regional economic integration; and other such topics.
