First ASC Speaker Forum: “America and Asia’s New Regionalism: What Place is There for the ‘Resident Power?

On the evening of February 25, the ASEAN Studies Center welcomed Dr. David Capie, an expert in Asia-Pacific regional security from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, to give a lecture at AU. Dr. Capie’s presentation focused on the growing trend of regionalism in the Asia-Pacific region and the implications this trend poses for both American interests and the regional security structure. This speaker forum, the first hosted by the ASEAN Studies Center, was well-attended by faculty and students at AU, as well as by members of the greater Washington community.
