Visiting Scholar, School of International Service
Michael Hart has been named as a Visiting Scholar in AU's School of International Service and will be teaching in the Fall at AU. Professor Hart is the Simon Reisman Chair in Trade Policy at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. As a senior officer in Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, he developed Canada's trade strategy and negotiated the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, the North American Free Trade Agreement, and global trade agreements. Hart was the founding director of the Centre for Trade Policy and Law at Carleton University. He is the author, editor, or co-editor of more than a dozen books and numerous articles including Decision at Midnight: Inside the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Negotiations and A Trading Nation: Canadian Trade Policy from Colonialism to Globalization.
