SIS will screen a film from the Embassy of France titled, “Les Arrivants.”
Les Arrivants profiles of a pair of French social workers, Caroline and Colette, and the immigrants that pass through their office. Caroline and Colette are eager to help the thousands of immigrants that travel to France searching for asylum or a better way of life. Filmmakers Patrice Chagnard and Claudine Bories follow the struggles of these two women as they grapple with the meager resources and the restrictive policies of the government’s immigration department.
Les Arrivants was an official selection at the 2010 Silverdocs Documentary Film Festival.
