SIS Film Series

The School of International Service, 3rd Thursdays film series, fosters global understanding through an engaging lineup of documentary films provided by Washington, D.C. embassies. The films are screened in the Abramson Family Founders Room at the School of International Service on the third Thursday of each month. The September film screening of the SIS film series will take place on September 19th at 6:15 p.m. Join us for light refreshments at 6:15pm followed by the screening at 6:30pm.

Chef Geoff's, a local New Mexico Avenue bistro a few doors down from SIS, is offering a complimentary glass of wine or dessert to 3rd Thursday film goers.

September - "Ramchand Pakistani"

The Embassy of Pakistan has sponsored September’s film, "'Ramchand Pakistani." The film tells the story of 7-year old Pakistani boy and his father that belong to the untouchable Hindu caste. They accidentally cross the Pakistan-India during a time of heightened tension between the two countries and are forced to spend years in jail without contacting their family.

The School of International Service is located at the intersection of Nebraska and New Mexico Avenues. Parking is free in the SIS garage after 5 p.m.

Visit Chef Geoff's Restaurant after the film and receive one free dessert or glass of wine with any entree. Each guest must bring the certificate distributed during the film to redeem the deal. All details are listed on the certificate.

Chef Geoff's is just a five minute walk from the university.
