  • Ali E. Erol's research is at the intersection of Turkey, critical language studies, dissent, and nationalism. His current research project focuses on understanding the protests that took place in Turkey during the Summer of 2013--dubbed 'Gezi Park Protests'. His scholarly articles appeared in International Journal of Communication, Journal of Language and Social Psychology, Journal of International Political Anthropology, and Unrest Magazine. He also frequently writes in Turkish mass media and popular magazines.
